Who We Are

Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher, staff, parents and local authority to make decisions about how the school is run. They aim to secure the best possible education for every child at Brampton Village Primary, by forming a framework of policies covering the curriculum, the school environment, finances, staffing and welfare.

Governors work in partnership with the Headteacher, staff and parents to make decisions about how the school is run. They aim to secure the best possible education for every child at Brampton Village Primary, by forming a framework of policies covering the curriculum, the school environment, finances, staffing and welfare. Governors also help to shape the future of our primary school by developing both long and short term development plans.

There are fifteen governors at Brampton Village Primary, five of whom are parents of children in school. The full governing body meets once every half-term; each committee – Learning and Inclusion, Resources, Premises & Safety and Pre-school – meets once a term. Governors act as ‘critical friends’, ensuring that the school is fulfilling its statutory duties, supporting school self-evaluation and holding the leadership team to account for school improvement.

The minutes of full governing body meetings are available in the school office; parents are welcome to ask to see them.
